It looks like the title race in La Liga for Barcelona and Real Madrid is basically over. Barcelona are now 9 points ahead of Real, with 7 games left to play. I think Barcelona wont let this slip, especially since La Liga is their only competition left.
Real can already start preparing for next season. I think the most relevant question for them right now is a coaching change, because I have no doubt that Arbeloa will be dismissed (I don't believe they can beat Bayern today).
Since Atlеtico are still playing in the Champions League, I think they might settle for fourth place and allow Villarreal to finish above them this season. But lets not jump to conclusions yet, because there are only two points between them, so anything can happen. But if Atletico continue in the Champions League, I think Simeone will more than once field a second lineup in La Liga matches ahead of CL games.
Atletico Madrid have dropped too many points in recent weeks, so finishing 3rd or 4th in the league won't change anything for them. Their only goal right now is to reach the Champions League final. They're already guaranteed to qualify for the Champions League next season, so they might not take the league matches too seriously.
There are still many matches to go, so it might not be accurate to say that Barcelona will definitely be champions. We've seen similar scenarios in other leagues; if they get injured and lose two matches in a row, then we'll start to see how much Real Madrid will be in the title race
