Re: What’s the driving the rapid demand for online gambling (online casino)
in Gambling discussion
There are reasons why online gambling is on the rise. One of the reasons is privacy. There are people who gamble online, and you won't know them until they tell you. Another reason is easy accessibility, if you have your gadgets at hand either phone or laptop, you save yourself from moving to the gambling shop, the time taken to go to the gambling shop is enough to place your bet online.

You see that accessibility? That’s the main deal. Before online gambling became a thing, people would have to go to gambling centers to place bets and then when you win you’ll still have to go back and collect your winnings. Sometimes they might even tie you excuse, to come back later to take your winnings from them.

But now, without even leaving your bed you can do all of those things and still get the same experience as to what you’d have gotten if you had gone to a physical center.

Re: Registered only vs Licensed Casino
in Gambling discussion
Most gamblers can’t even tell if a casino comply copied the license of another casino and place it on their site or if it’s a forged license.

Personally, the only time I pay attention to the license of a casino is when I’m conducting a review or just checking the site out to spot any red flags. But if I’m to come across a site and I want to use it to gamble, I’ll most likely not check the license an even if I do, I won’t spend much time trying to check for the authenticity of the license.

I also must confess, I still don’t know the difference between having a license and the registered under, that you mentioned in the Op.

Re: How do you manage situation when on a higher chance of winning
in Gambling discussion
It depends. If I just tell you “nah! I don’t increase my bets no matter the odds or the advantages I have in the situation.” It would mean I’m lying because I have placed bets with amount that are higher than what I’d bet on a normal day.

So when I come across games like that, if my balance doesn’t favour me to increase my bet I’ll keep the normal amount I bet but if I have more than enough, I usually won’t think it twice before I increase the bet. So
It’s usually my account that determines whether I’m going to increase it or not. If I also plan on not gambling too much, I still would double my bets on such a game.

Re: Gambling is all cool, until you hit that Huge Loss
in Gambling discussion

So would you have avoided this situation if you were in my shoes?

Most experienced gamblers would have been able to easily avert this from happening if they were in your shoes. The rule is simple, don’t leave your wins in your account if you’re not ready to lose them. Any money you leave in your gambling account is as good as gone because that next bet of yours could be what would trigger your losing streak and you might get carried away and find yourself still placing more bets despite being on a losing streak.

One way I have tried to prevent things like this from happening to me, is simply by placing withdrawals the moment I manage to hit some wins. So I’d withdraw a part of it and use the remaining portion to continue gambling and the whole thing continues that way until I finally hit that loss that takes the remaining balance away.

Re: The morning after how do u feel when u wake up after a big loss ?
in Gambling discussion
If after you have finished gambling and you experienced some loses and then you still feel sad about that money or that losses for more than a day then it means that you should take some time to re-evaluate your entire gambling activity especially the money you’re using to gamble because for a loss to remain on your mind for that long means that you’re doing something wrong, most likely you spent more than you could afford to lose.

I’m not saying that feeling sad after a loss isn’t okay, but then the duration at which that feeling stays also matters and tells you what you should do concerning your gambling finance.

Re: Is Trading Just Gambling in a Suit?
in Gambling discussion

So few days ago i went to my father’s office with him. While i was there one of his assistant asked me about trading and i gave some answers. Then one of his colleague in the office said “Trading is basically gambling people just call it something else these days.” That made me think. I gave them answer at the time but later i did some research on what really makes trading different from gambling.

what do u all think?

I kinda see the angle from where that assistant is coming from, and I honestly don't think that he's completely wrong. In the past, before you started trading or left your demo account to start trading with real funds, you'd have to undergo some real training. Still, nowadays, people who don't know shit about trading are already trading because one self-proclaimed trading guru said he would take them to a certain amount if they join his Telegram channel. That type of trading is no different from gambling since you're depending on luck to get a successful trade.

But for a real trader, the difference between gambling and trading is quite obvious, especially when you're dealing with games that are based solely on luck.

Re: Make a living off betting? All you need is a hairdryer

If pilymarket and the general prediction continues this way, they are setting themselves up for bankruptcy. The prediction market is one of the most susceptible to insider betting, so if they continue putting events that can easily be rigged, it is a matter of time before they are hit so badly. The other day was a soldier betting on the capture of Maduro, and another time was people betting on US attacking Iran, these are information that can easily be leaked and people will make fortune off them. It seems people are not winning enough else polymarket would have been more careful of some of the bets they allow in their platform.

The platform keeps getting larger daily, and predictions keep popping up constantly, so it will be extremely difficult for them to completely get rid of predictions that people can directly influence and get the result to favour them. I think the most obvious one was that of Trevor Noah, which they predicted that he was going to say "potato" on a live TV, and he did and also mentioned the name of the account that placed that bet.

This just goes to show that, even if they start to filter predictions like that, there is no guarantee that the people who might cause the event to happen are not on the platform too. So those safe bets might just turn out not to be safe in the end.

Re: No wife can tolerate a gambling husband unless he wins regularly at gambling.
in Gambling discussion
There are many gamblers in my area whose family members know that they gamble but no one stops them. On the contrary, if they lose repeatedly everyone talks bad about them. On the other hand, if they win a lot of money everyone shows them a lot of love.

What are the family members doing to fix this because eventually their assets will be lost.

No one accepts something unless it somehow brings them some good stuff or benefits them. Some people would condemn an act, but the moment that act starts to benefit them, they either turn a blind eye to it or start to praise it.

There is nobody or no woman who would be happy to see her husband gamble on a daily basis, but the moment the man starts to get some benefits from it, that previously condemned gambling becomes the best thing that the woman knows, and that is just how humans work.

Re: Bank staff stole over $1 million
in Gambling discussion
It happened in Ghana.

A former Relationship Manager at Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank), Christopher Akwesi Arthur, was recently arraigned for allegedly stealing a much larger sum of GH¢12 million (not 1.2 million) from a businessman's account. This is AI information and it pointed to Instagram where it gets the information from.

It is alleged for now and the case is ongoing in court.

I think I responded to this thread in the other forum.

I actually never knew that bankers could steal from their customers' accounts without being caught. I think this exposes one of the ways that the banking system is lacking. The activity logs or bank statements aren't helpful if the customer can't use them to figure out what happened to their money. A huge sum like that disappears, and nothing is discovered for months.

And again, there's another one that's just being dropped.
Yes, I've participated in the new one as well, and it's always fun to find and be part of such contests. Let's see who's going to win this amazing contest sponsored by CoinRoyale!  Smiley

I have also dropped mine, too.

Whether I am lucky enough to be mentioned as the winner this round or not, one thing is certain: I am still going to participate in the next round.

Cantsay, isn't going to give up that easily. Grin
