Re: 🕰️ The Bitcointalk Time Machine: Share Your Memories!
in Meta

Thanks for the kind words! It's for me to improve, not just be stagnant in learning. Creating this tool is a blast, and more to come!

Will be sure to keep an eye out for another mind-blowing creation of yours in the future. Just wanted to ask; isn't it possible for someone's recent number of merits to be shown once the total number of posts has been displayed. I'm asking this cause I noticed that the number of merits shown isn't in correspondence with the merit you have on your profile.

Re: If you measure prices in sats, things become cheaper over time.
in Bitcoin Discussion
If you measure prices in bitcoin sats instead of fiat , you start to see something interesting , prices go down over time. This is because Bitcoin has a fixed supply, while fiat  is constantly being printed and losing purchasing power. In a fiat system, prices rise over time. In a Bitcoin standard, measured in sats, goods and services become cheaper as productivity improves.
And that's why they won't do it because then they would lose the power to inflate prices whenever they feel like. The plan has never been to see the citizens comfortable, it's to give them a false sense of comfort whereby goods one purchases before at $1 assuming, they'd increase it to $5 and then later drop it to $3 but the quality might not be the same but instead of complaining that the product is not as it was when it was introduced to the market, but price has increased, people will focus on the fact that it has reduced in price first, before thinking of quality later.

Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2025/26
in Gambling discussion
Real Madrid defeated relegated Real Oviedo 2-0.

There's something I don't understand: the league champions and everything else are already decided, but why didn't the referee add any extra time in the second half? Many people bet on these matches, and I'm sure many bet on over 2.5 goals. Shouldn't the referee have added extra time regardless? These kinds of things bother me for some reason!

Also, there are rumors on social media that Jose Mourinho will be Real Madrid's manager. I hope it's not true. Because Jose isn't the same Jose he used to be. Football left Jose behind years ago.
I noticed he didn't add much time as well but I guess in his mind he'd be saying "there's no point in adding since the both teams have already had their fates decided for them. Oviedo are already relegated while Madrid have lost the title to Barcelona so there's nothing to be added. Madrid had countless opportunities to bury the game but instead they were the ones defending in the first half. It made me wonder whether this is how they'd play if the title was still in contention.

       Man City vs Crystal Palace
This will be another nail biting event for not just football lovers, but for Arsenal fans as well because we all know they want Crystal Palace to come to their aid as Everton did. Pep Guardiola hasn't lost at the Etihad and infact maintain a 16 home unbeaten record.
If my memory serves me right, it was the same Crystal Palace that deprived Man City of the FA cup last season so much eyes will be on them to see if they can completely shatter Man City's hopes of lifting the EPL trophy.

I have checked the statistics of the matches between these two teams. Manchester City won 3 out of 5 matches. Crystal Palace won one and drew one and City also have the past record of dropping points against Palace. Today's match is Manchester City's home match. Manchester City are clear favorites at the Etihad. But there is a possibility of losing their points if they make any mistakes.

Manchester City unexpectedly dropped points against Everton. City will play at home against Crystal Palace. Guardiola will not want to drop points in the last minute of the season. I'm going to bet on City to win.
Of course Man City are the favorites to win the game but let's also put into the equation that it will be a tough game as Man City will be very desperate to take the lead and this could be their downfall should Crystal Palace want to exploit it. We saw how their desperation and eagerness to win the game made them almost lose at Everton and if such will occur today, there's no telling if they will survive it.

Re: Powell OUT, Warsh IN as Fed Chairman SOON!
in Economics
I have read about this man, he has referred to bitcoin as new gold for younger investors and an important asset for policymakers according to where I read about him. I believe United States will continue to be friendly about bitcoin during his time if he become the Fed Chair. Everything he says about bitcoin is just so true, unlike those that will not know about something, but be criticizing the thing.
I just hope that when he enters office, we'd continue to hear positive stories about him as relates to Bitcoin. You know, when Trump was campaigning for office, he used Bitcoin as a platform to push his popularity amongst the Bitcoin community but now it's not what we expected of him. Just hope Kevin Warsh with his brilliant portfolio will be another ray of sunshine for Bitcoin and not immediately turn as soon as he stays for sometime upon his installment as Fed Chair.

Re: Proposal for network consent to randomly distribute 1.1 MLN BTC from Satoshi.
in Bitcoin Discussion

Lots will disagree on this because once this proposal is approved and done, it destroys the integrity of the network.  The once, "your coins is secured" will be "your coins can be secured by other hands".  I do not know why people are so interested to distribute something that they don't own  Grin.  If you want to distribute Bitcoin to each network participants, why don't you use your own Bitcoin to fulfill your desire?

Anyway, I disagree with this proposal and won't support it because it will make the  supposed to be "dead coins" back into the market circulation thus affecting the valuation of Bitcoin in the market.
There's nothing as sweet as getting something free of charge, without putting in much work for it, especially when it comes to money. Imagine it's the Op that has funds in the network, I bet you we won't hear of this ridiculous proposal. Some people just look for crafty methods to get people to engage in their absurd threads.
