Re: When will Manchester City's 115 charges verdict be delivered? Poll
in Gambling discussion
Nobody even cares if they are actually guilty or not, from the look of it. All rival fans just want them punished. It's now a case of guilty until proven innocent.  Grin
Even if they are found not guilty, people are still going to believe what they want to believe. What is in everybody's head is that they are guilty; there is nothing you can tell them.

When you look at the charges, most of them are not that serious to warrant being relegated as people want, actually. Fines, point deduction, and transfer bans are the worst-case scenarios.
Failure to provide accurate financial information
Inaccurate details for player and manager payments
Failure to comply with UEFA's FFP regulations
Failure to cooperate with the Premier League's investigations

I'm not saying they are innocent of all charges, but it's difficult to see how they can be guilty of all, and these are not as serious charges as people make them seem. They are things that many other clubs have been fined for. Or is it the fact that City became successful with oil money?

Re: (Good) Suggestion for newbies and even those members who've been here a while
in Meta
I always read old threads whenever I come across them. I usually stumble on them through links or profiles. Even reading the references of tags on different profiles takes you to a lot of old posts. I also stumble upon a lot of drama, and that gives a glimpse of various histories on the forum. I've read a lot of old threads on this forum,, which is why sometimes I struggle to understand why people always say there is more spam on the forum now. In old threads, I see more spam than they are today.

And even back in 2018, discussions were being had about privacy coins as in https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2815174.0 this thread[/url] (although if you read the responses it's so goddamn obvious most members were just writing any ol' thing as long as it met the character quota for their campaign or bounty, and then you get gems like this:

Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2025/2026
in Gambling discussion
Your perspective is very wrong, firstly Manchester City didn’t hand over an easy opportunity to Arsenal as you may call golden opportunity rather Arsenal worked hard for it. If I’m not mistaking every club was not in their best performance so it’s more easier for any club to grab the opportunity right? So why did you think any other club never won the premier league trophy aside Arsenal, basically it’s not easy.

Two truths can coexist. Any team that wins the Premier League worked hard for it, but that doesn't mean it's a lie if a person says Arsenal won it because of the poor form of Manchester City.
The fact that the league winner was decided two games from the end of the season is further proof of this. Manchester City were in a very horrible form at one point this season. They just kept losing and drawing. This was the perfect opportunity for Arsenal to run away with the league, but somehow they still allowed themselves to be level on points with Manchester City. If City were in a good form, they would have won the league, but because they were struggling, they dropped points again.

This doesn't mean that Arsenal did not work hard, or that they didn't deserve the league; it simply means that they should be happy Pep and Manchester City did not pick their usual form. The kind of form that denied Liverpool the league, even after losing one match, or the form that denied Liverpool the league, even after getting 99 and 97 points.

I believe Arsenal can still win the league, but it won't be easy for them. With Pep gone, the league is not open. Other teams will also strengthen their teama nd tey will now all compete. Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal are all contenders. Somehow, I don't rate Chelsea that much, because I don't see their players as players that are ready, but with the Xabi Alonso, a part of me believes they can be competitive again.

Re: EOS
in Altcoin Discussion
And lets not forget this thing was once hyped up as the "Ethereum killer."  LOL!

The same way, Ethereum was hyped to be the "Bitcoin Killer".
These coins have nothing new to offer. As long as the goal is to make a profit for the developers, they will always follow the path of profit.

The problem with the Vaulta token started when there was a disagreement over how blockchain profits should be reinvested. So we can say money was the core cause of the problem. They focused more on profit, instead of focusing on how to make the coin better.

It is still shit now. It just keeps dumping and shows no potential. Right now, the rebrand seems to follow a different path from the original, with no clear goal. They still claim to offer the same generic things every other coin claims to offer.

Re: Gambling is a waste of money, a woman said but life proved her wrong
in Gambling discussion
If you ask me, I wouldn't really dispute the whole ideology of gambling being a waste of money. It is true, but only if you are doing it without any form of control or management, and that alone is enough to support the motion of gambling being a waste of money.

By this logic, a lot of things we spend money on are a waste of money. My Netflix and Prime Video subscriptions are a waste of money. They don't add anything meaningful to my life. The money I spend in the bar to get a few drinks on the weekend is a waste of money.
Gambling becomes a waste of money when it is abused. Using little money you can afford to gamble is not a waste of time. It's part of life. If you consider spending a little money to have fun for yourself as a waste of money, then you won't enjoy life.

The important thing is that you just have to know that gambling is a matter of luck and you should use it as fun, instead of a source of income. You can't earn an income from gambling. To hit the jackpot, it's just luck, not strategy or spending big or betting all the time.

Re: 🍀 Lucky.fun | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino & Sportsbook | Instant Payouts
in Gambling
Our sportsbook just went live, right before the World Cup:

https://lucky.fun/sportsbook

We actually have one of the best odds of any sportsbook out there. Feel free to try it out! Any feedback how we can improve it is welcome.

I would be using it for the daily 3 odds bet I plan for the World Cup. Depending on how lucky I'm feeling, I might do a rollover bet Cool

Re: Is bitcoin becoming too complicated for the average person
in Bitcoin Discussion
When has a bitcoiner not had to worry about their seed phrase and its security? These things you mention are not new things that were added later to Bitcoin; they are things that have always been there. People are just having a better understanding of it now. There is a reason why people misplace their seed phrase and lose their bitcoin more in the past than they do these days. Now people are getting better education on security. It's a good thing that more people are learning about this stuff, because more nodes enhance network security and preserve decentralisation.

Bitcoin is a complicated innovation, but it is not complicated to use. All you need is to know the basics like addresses, wallets, network fees, secret phrase/private keys and how to secure your secret phrase, wallet and device. You don't need to know about coin control, full node and other complicated things before you can use Bitcoin. Those are things that you learn along the way.

Re: Why are you delusional, lol
in Gambling discussion
You can't be happy in life without a little form of delusion  Grin
Delusion makes life easier to a certain degree. There are things people hope for which are against all odds. That kind of hope can only come from a place of delusion. Imagine a kid from a poor village dreaming of becoming a superstar one day. He needs to be delusional a bit to pursue his dreams.

It's even worse when it comes to sports. There are times when your team is coming up against a heavyweight in that field, but you still expect your team to win. Most times they don't, but sometimes they do, and your delusion is rewarded.

The same can be applied to gambling. Don't you think it's delusional to think you can hit the jackpot when you have a 1 in 1000 chance of making it? Sometimes your chances are even more than that, but you're still hopeful. Without delusion, you can't expect something like that.
Right now, most countries in the World Cup are hopeful that they can win the World Cup. We know that only one country can win it, but delusion gives everybody hope that as long as there is a chance, even though it's a needle's eye chance, they would take it. Without delusion, life would be very boring.

From your example, PSG didn't win Arsenal, not in normal time at least. They lost on penalties. So you see that the delusion paid off to some extent because on paper, PSG should have won in normal time. So delusion pays off.

Re: Been popular doesn't make them more smarter than you are
in Bitcoin Discussion
Has Jack Dorsey ever claimed to be Satoshi? I've never seen or heard him make such claims. In fact, he has flatly said that he is not Satoshi, even though he added statements like "If I were him, would I tell you?"
Craig Wright, on the other hand, is an idiot who has embarrassed himself in and out of court multiple times because of his claim to be Satoshi. I don't think anybody should take him seriously.

It's true, popularity does not mean the person knows better or is smarter than you. There are many things that make people popular.  Even if the person is smarter than you, it doesn't mean he knows more than you in everything, or some of their views can be wrong or flawed.
