OgNasty going after Saylor  and calling a monster crash for the corn.

Oh well. Too bad he is right about this.

Re: 2026 Difficulty Thread
in Mining speculation
It won't be profitable for me to mine at prices below $50,000, and the only expenses for mining are electricity. Mining companies have contracts with energy companies and can't shut down quickly.

But we've already seen history where large miners operated at a loss for extended periods. But then these actions paid off handsomely.

My gear is s21xp

So 3.4x270= 9.28 in earnings

Burns 84 kwatts

My power is under 9 cents

So 7.56 burned

9.28-7.56= 1.72 profit based on only power cost.

A 20 percent price drop would be about 57000 a coin and put me in the red.

9.28 x .8 = 7.42 and I would lose 14 cents a machine

How do you calculate the cost of mining?
For how long do you add equipment depreciation into your expenses?
If you also factor in taxes and additional services, you might even be surprised to learn that buying coins now isn't such a bad idea.

I write them off the year I buy them. My cost is complex but pretty much they have been written off in 2024 and 2025.

I very likely will not buy miners this year.
I purchased a lot of btc in the 60k to 75k range,

I basically have nothing to do but post for 2026.

Re: Watching $70k support
in Speculation
I've been watching the charts today and it's crazy to see BTC dropping toward the $70k level after being so much higher recently. Ive seen these big crashes before in 2018 and 2022, but it still feels a bit tense when it happens this fast.

Are you guys buying this dip or waiting to see if $70k holds? I think I'll wait a bit more to see if the panic selling stops first.

Bitcoin looks to have started losing its dominance, and that has lead to the panic sell in the market and some other factors that the market cannot get to uphold strong to not fall. If were being honest to ourselves, the crash is just a sign of the bear market now upon us, so the best thing to do now is to hold and look for opportunities to buy more and add to our portfolios. I doubt if the market will hold on to that support zone strongly for the next one month without falling further, the bear season looks to have started, but we shall wait and see how the market reacts till the end of the month. The market looks to be one sided, and not going back up again but observing the situation now is much better as coming to early conclusions of the market now can lead to another surprise, the market remains unpredictable to all.

Still stacking in hopes of a teddy bear rather than a grizzly bear.

We will know soon enough.

All soda is acidic. All soda dissolves bones and calcium.

The least acidic soda is root beer. It is around 4.5 .  7 is neutral.  MOST sodas run 2 to 3.5 coke is in the 2.5 area.

I drink plain seltzer and add these products to the seltzer.

you use both RO and distill your drinking water, no?

have you considered carbonating your own distilled (or otherwise filtered) water ala the sodastream or similar home carbonator. just plain carbonated water rocks.

So guys, about distillation, isn't removing minerals bad for you? I read somewhere that you can die by drinking distilled water on a regular basis. Was it bad information?

I think I'll replace that black liquid I call soda with carbonated water (in glass bottles, as BitHodlers suggests).

Off-topic, but an interesting discussion. Got to stay healthy and fit -- our coins demand it. Got jealous of The Dude.

terrible info.  distilled water removes bad shit and good minerals

so just have a few mineral supplements to replace what you wash out.

washing out the bad shit is the single most important thing to do.

I did not expect to gain back all of the drop which means we go from 125t to 141t

but the charts show we may do that.

Still very very very early. We may see some game theory and hash falling back in days 10,11,12,13,14 of the jump

remember there is enough hash to be at a diff of 155t

Re: Is the kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie an attack against BTC?
in Bitcoin Discussion
This kidnapping could mean a call to be able to freeze BTC. It certainly will damage BTC if the ranson is paid and if the kidnappers are never caught.

It will also likely hurt monero and mixers if the btc get vanished and cleaned.

So it will hurt BTC for sure , but I do not know if the kidnappers just want BTC or if there is no kidnapping and it is a plot to hurt crypto.

My guess is the kidnapping happened and they think they can clean the BTC.
I don't trust politicians and top business owners. They can do anything to achieve their aims. I don't know if the kidnapping was staged or is real. I would like to wait as the investigation continues.

So it will hurt BTC for sure , but I do not know if the kidnappers just want BTC or if there is no kidnapping and it is a plot to hurt crypto.
You've been into bitcoin for over a decade. How can you imagine that a ransom case will even be remembered next month, let alone "hurt crypto"?
This particular case is getting more publicity. I read one of the reports about this kidnapping and the writer called Bitcoin a currency that is popular among criminals. Nobody knows how things will turn out because the US has a president who acts like a despot. He can make sweeping changes to crypto laws using this kidnapping case as a backing.

Reform could be asked for.  My fear is a coin freeze proposal that gets legs and is done in the USA.

my thoughts are your thoughts I bolded in red.

it is 9am i broke fast just now.

i ate supper at 6pm so i went 15 hours with zero food.

i drink three glasses of filtered water last night at 11:50pm around 27oz.

this helps flush sugar out of the body.

my a1c runs at 5.9-6.3 as I am a diabetic.

i exercise daily and in general avoid flour.

My latest a1c was 6.1 and I think its on higher side. I usually maintain my a1c under 6. If you are diabetic then you must have your a1c after every 3 months to keep an eye on it. Once its gone high, its difficult to lower it.

The home made foods are best to keep your blood sugar lower. I have tested my blood sugar after eating pizza from Pizza Hut and Pizza made at home. The home made pizza doesn't increases my sugar since its dough is thin. Likewise other home made stuff doesn't increases my sugar very much.

Three things are required to control your blood sugar.

Food
Exercise
Medicine

I don't take any medicine and try to control my blood sugar through Food and Exercise only.

i used to be able to run 5.8 5.9 with diet and exercise alone.

but three sessions  of covid 2019 2022 2025 and meds are needed.

the last covid was summer of 2025 each and every time I got it my sense of smell was hurt and then came back.  this last time the sense of smell is maybe 50% back.

Yeah I should. I HAVE whole house filter and then ro to drink and cook.

Have to find a good carbonator

Re: [POLL] How high will silver go?
in Economics
With silver experiencing a bull run, how high do you think it will get?

When do you see the price hitting this point and when it corrects, how low do you think it will eventually settle?

I think we could get as high as $80, but will probably stop around $65. I do believe silver hits $200 before 2040.
it is very uncertain how low and high silver will go just like gold. from what people are saying it is predicted to rise to between $70 to $100 which is high for silver but just as gold it could fall below because this is all just predications and we never rally know untill the time come and the markets change. silver is a rare metal just as gold and is increasing only in value because of the demand for it globally. silver is need and wanted more now a days because of the need for more electric cars and solar panels as they both require silver in some sort of way. however if this demand go down so will the value of silver

I call bullshit on this post.

A we got as high as 120 and you have zero mention of that.

Here is the deal we were are 50 in Sept we went up up and away to 120 we  talked to 70 and we came back to 85 plus or so. We are now at 81 or 82

SO I THINK we could rally again my guess is we pass 100 again.

This silver run is not like anything we ever saw.

-Very good diet, intermittent fasting is similar, but, in the day-to-day routine,
it is not good to stay more than 4 hours without something in the stomach,
...according to some doctors...

I'm a big fan of intermittent fasting. I believe it is good for our body. In fact, intermittent fasting is more compatible with our body than 5 meals/day which is heavily promoted by mainstream media. Think about it. Our DNA has evolved over millions of years, during which the prehistoric human had to hunt to survive, and had to spend days without food. Those humans did not have refrigerators to prepare breakfast every day, and could not store and have food readily available like modern humans. Intermittent fasting is closer to our DNA than the non-stop eating habits we have developed in modern times.

I often do 23 hours of fasting + 1 hour of eating. It has helped me a lot in getting rig of excess fat and keeping insulin spikes to a minimum. I've never had problems with diabetes, and intend to keep it that way. My A1C is at 4.5, which is very good. When out with friends, I do break my fast and do eat junk food sometimes, but it's not the norm. I exercise every day, no exceptions. Even simple tasks like taking very long walks. I do at least 300 km (200 mi) / month of running, jogging, walking. I use a tracking app to record my progress.

I think it's a positive feedback loop, which can work both ways, good and bad. On the good side, seeing the benefits gives you strength and discipline to continue. On the bad side, you end up becoming obese and addicted to junk food, at which point it feels impossible to turn things around.

tl;dr: it's a combination of good DNA, healthy habits and common sense; eating well, keeping active, don't overdo things, maintain balance. Last but not least: buy/HODL Bitcoin -- you'll need to stay strong and healthy to be able to enjoy it. That alone should steer you in the right direction.

Sounds good to me. You're keeping it under control. And from what I can see from your photos, you're enjoying it too (essential, otherwise it will fail).

I had dinner at 8pm last night, will eat again around the same time tonight. No breakfast.

Coffee/tea is OK (no sugar!). Some say diet sodas are OK. I drink Coke Zero sometimes (a lot, actually). Purists wouldn't touch it.

No insulin spike this way. This unlocks fat reserves, so the body can burn fat for fuel --> weight loss (from fat). Adding sugar/carbs turns the body into fat storage mode, fat gets locked in, no way to burn it, so you burn the sugar/glycogen and then your metabolism shuts down (fatigue). I used to think it's just a matter of calories. I was so wrong -- it's not. Insulin is the key.

The main thing is to avoid regular intake of carbs (sugar, flour, starchy foods). It can be tough in the beginning, but the benefits more than outweigh the initial discomfort. And soon it's not a problem to maintain it. It becomes the norm. I guess it's similar to drug addiction, takes an effort to kick the habit.
