let’s talk about ‘angle’ in sports betting, what do you actually look at?
in Gambling discussion
I’ve heard about “angle” from people who are good in sports handicapping. I understand it a little, but since we have a lot of sports bettors here, maybe some experts can share their opinion about this.

Please share what you understand about it. It doesn’t matter if it sounds wrong or right, just be honest with your opinion.

Let’s talk about the “angle” thing that we usually look at before placing our bets.

So the Philippines is joining the superpowers of democracy and prosperity China and Russia by blocking a forum where cryptocurrencies are discussed? Of course, you always need a good excuse for doing stupid things, and it's easiest to blame gambling now that there's no mixers anymore.
They are not. It’s probably just a mistake, maybe the operator pressed the ban button by accident.  Cheesy

From what I checked, the SEC announcement was only about banning unlicensed exchanges and gambling sites. Bitcointalk is not one of those, it’s just a forum.
Hopefully they remove the ban soon if this was really just a mistake.

Weird, I'm from the Philippines and I can still access it. So I was surprised to see your post kabayan.
I can still access it, that’s why I was able to post it here, but I’m using a different network and it works because of some DNS trick. I’m also able to access sites like Binance, which is also banned in the Philippines. A friend gave that screenshot to me, he’s using PLDT while I’m using Globe, so I’m not sure if the same DNS trick will work on that ISP too.

I’m sure there are still many Filipinos here who can share their experience. But anyway, it’s really not that hard to find a way to access it. What I’m really trying to point out here is how incompetent the government is. Even a forum like that gets banned, what the hell.

Are you for real??? A forum that is as harmless as Bitcointalk banned by your government?
Yeah, for real.   Shocked

Looks like the Philippines is making history as the first one to block the forum.

The people behind this action are morons. They blocked a website that is actually very informative, and whoever reported it as a scam is probably just trying to ruin the website.

Facebook and other social media sites have way more scams than here. This is just a forum, we don’t promote scams. DT has been doing everything to keep the forum clean. I think the forum is being wrongly targeted because of the lack of competency from the Philippine authorities.

Sorry for expressing my feelings, or ranting if it sounds like one. I just can’t accept how bad this decision is.

Re: Are pure online casinos slowly becoming outdated?
in Gambling discussion
is this really the direction the industry is going or just a temporary phase?

In my country, most local online sites have been doing this for a long time. I think it's very normal here for betting to be in one place, so I believe the trend for the future is for casinos to be divided into sections according to the user's betting preferences. At the end of the day, it's all about money, so the more diversity a site has, the better the casino will do if it knows how to stay afloat.
Me, if my preference is only betting on casino games, I’m still fine using the sportsbook too if they already have it on the platform.

At first I was really into sports betting, but later I got attracted to casino games as well. From experience, it really gets tempting when a casino offers a lot, because sometimes we end up wanting to try everything. That’s one reason I think casinos should add sportsbooks, or sportsbooks should add casino games too, because once users are already there, it’s easier for them to explore both.

Are pure online casinos slowly becoming outdated?
in Gambling discussion
Based on what i’ve been noticing lately, a lot of online casinos are starting to add sportsbook into their platforms

So i’m kinda wondering, do you guys think this is mainly just to keep up with competition? like, all-in-one platforms seem more attractive now since players can switch between casino games and sports betting in one place

and for those casinos that still stick to pure casino only, do you think they’re slowly becoming outdated? or maybe they still have their own solid market and don’t really need to change

personally i feel like if the trend continues, sooner or later they might be forced to add sportsbook just to keep their users from moving to more complete platforms

curious what others think about this, is this really the direction the industry is going or just a temporary phase?
